Another big night of Squash 57 action for HRC, with plenty of wins, a few battles, and enough 11s on the scorecards to keep the scorers busy!
HRC 57s – 19–4 WIN Crosby Nicks
A dominant night for the HRC 57s, who absolutely put N. Crosby Nicks to the sword.
Final score: 19–4
A superb all-round team performance. Ged Clark and Seb Gardner giving the team a great foundation with two convincing wins. Then at 3, Bob Mc was still on holiday as Mr Drop alot of Crosby stole a win 3-2. Hannah Clark was then way beyond Andrew Chanter with Mike Corran winning comfortably too.
Fury – 7–18 Xaverian
It was a tougher evening for Heswall Fury, who found Xaverian in no mood to mess around. A good point and performance from Jayne McGrath and Mark Jones . Neil Walker nearly overcame Nick Jones in a five set showdown before Locky showed why he is the man to beat - with a convincing 3-1 over Mark Goulding.
Final score: Fury 7–18 Xaverian
Fury battled hard, but Xaverian took control of the match and grabbed the full five bonus points as well.
Heswall Racketeers – 17–7 Northern Lights
The Racketeers were absolutely flying!
Heswall came away with a convincing victory over Northern Lights, winning four of the five individual ties and collecting all five bonus points. Chris Sheppard (3-0) and Paul Smith ( 3-2) gave the team a good foundation with wins before Matty Smith exploded to a 3-0 win sealing the points. That left Matt Stapledon with a tough job at 2 v Alex Mannion before Mike Beecham showed why he is the GOAT. 3-2 over the Shermantor (Matt Sherman).
Final score: Racketeers 17–7
A proper team effort and a great result for HRC.
