Dear Members,
Over the past few weeks, the committee has received a significant amount of feedback regarding membership categories and access to the new Padel courts. We want to thank everyone who has taken the time to share their views — your input has been listened to carefully.
Following a very constructive committee meeting this evening, we want to hold our hands up and acknowledge that we may have jumped the gun in restricting certain membership categories from booking Padel courts.
The Padel project has been something the committee has worked incredibly hard to deliver, and while we are proud of what has been achieved, we fully accept that not every decision will be perfect first time. What we can commit to is always acting in the best interests of Heswall Rackets Club and being willing to listen, adapt, and make changes when needed.
As Heswall Rackets Club, we believe it is appropriate at this time that all membership categories retain their existing membership benefits across all rackets sports.
With immediate effect:
All membership categories, including Day Members, will have full member booking benefits for the Padel courts, in line with their current membership terms.
We will run this as a trial period and review court usage and membership structures after three months. If any changes to membership categories, structures, or pricing are felt necessary, these will be brought forward for discussion and approval at the 2025 AGM later in the year.
A date for the 2024 AGM will be circulated shortly.
