Another fantastic night of racketball at HRC. We have so much happening at the minute. The imminent arrival of Padel, Squash and Racketball teams all make the club an exciting place to be.

Heswall Variety v Crosby Lights
Susanna Simoes opened up at 5 with a solid 3-0 win - far too lively for her opponent. Martin Simpson then came crashing onto the racketball scene - literally. His head just about intact he managed to outplay Reece Mannion to claim a famous 3-2 victory. Lewis Clarke then continued his impressive form with his own win, sealing the points for Variety. Mark Evans and Paul Rigby, playing top of the order, claimed their own impressive wins and a full house for Variety. Heswall Variety win 20-3.
Heswall Fury v Heswall Racketeers
Paul Smith tamed Lee Bull with an experienced performance, giving our Racketeers an early lead. Rhys Auty then claimed captains bragging rights coming from 1-0 down to take the game 3-1. Matt Stapledon then showed his prowess with a 3-0 win over the improving Mark Jones. Peter Barton sealed the win with his own 3-0 win over the skilful Neil Walker. Then came the big guns. Top of the order was star man Dave Loughlin taking on club GOAT Mike Beecham . An astonishing spectacle, with Mike coming out 3-2 winner. Racketeers win 18-5.
Crosby Nicks v Heswall 57s
Credit to Chris Moores for stepping in late on. Unfortunately, it was a step too far for Chris and Paul Grannon as Crosby fielded a strong side. However, the pizza I am sure made the trip worth it. The improving Craig Beecham took a valuable point but couldn’t win this time. Bob Mc taught Matt Fell that skill beats running with a fabulous 3-2 win. The ever-reliable Tom Clark , sitting top of the order won, yet again. However, it wasn’t enough to claim the team win. Crosby win 18-7.
Player of the week was a close call between Martin Simpson and Michael Beecham . It goes to Mike, who’s put our Racketeers right in the mix to win the league as we approach the halfway stage. All of our teams are performing well, tesitmont to the commitment and rising standards of our squad.
