Jersey 2026

A squad of 21 players headed off from Liverpool Airport for a brilliant few days at the Jersey Racketball Festival hosted by St Clements Golf & Sports Centre.

The trip mixed competitive racketball with plenty of socialising, sunshine and team spirit, making it another memorable tour for everyone involved. From the moment the group landed in Jersey, spirits were high and the festival atmosphere was in full swing. A mix of Padel, sight seeing and sunshine by the pool kept everyone relaxed.

On court, the standard was excellent throughout the weekend, with some fantastic performances across all divisions. The standout success stories came from the 1st and 4th teams, both of whom won their respective divisions after a series of strong performances and hard-fought matches. Their victories capped off an outstanding weekend and gave the travelling support plenty to celebrate. Win of the wekend came from club legend Alan Jones, drafted in from the sun lounger to play at 1 for the fourth team. Fighting back from one down - Alan gave everthing to secure the top spot for the team - winning his match 2-1.

Off court, the trip delivered plenty of entertainment too. One of the highlights came when Ged was reluctantly dragged away from the sunny Merton hotel pool to go and play his matches — something he was reportedly absolutely fuming about at the time. Thankfully, any disappointment didn’t last too long, as he more than recovered later by enthusiastically empying the bar tab.

The group also enjoyed a superb evening meal at Bellagio, where good food, drinks and plenty of stories from the day’s matches kept the atmosphere lively well into the evening/early morning.

I was delighted everyone had competitive matches. As always, the tour was about more than just results. The weekend was packed with laughs, team bonding, competitive spirit and great memories both on and off the court. With successful teams, excellent hospitality and another fantastic festival experience in Jersey, the trip will certainly live long in the memory for everyone involved. A huge thanks to Liz@ JSRC.

The planning for 2027 has already started. Don't forget your shoes, Chris!

Chris :)
