Lymm v Heswall Racketeers
Our racketeers headed out east to Lymm Rugby club for a top v bottom clash. Rob Powley, Paul Smith, myself, Matt Smith and Peter Barton all recorded straight forward wins to take the full points haul. A lovely group of people at Lymm with some great hospitality. Heswall Racketeers win 20-1 .
Heswall Variety v LCC
In-form Lewis Clarke beat Sam Pryke 3-2 to level the match after the energetic Rob McGregor has beaten Martin Simpson in the opener. Mark Evans then took Lee Walton to five sets but sadly lost in a tight decider. Paul Rigby and Dan Parker both then lost tight games 3-1 to Matty Dolphin and Joe Walton. A good win for LCC on the night 19-7 . Our Variety team travel to Crosby next week for a rearranged fixture.
Heswall Fury v Neston
Our Fury team had another tough looking home tie against local rivals, Neston. Steve Patterson, Lee Bull and Mark Jones all put in 100% effort but couldn’t get on top of their opponents this time. All three of you have shown great commitment to the team In what is your first season of team Racketball. Keep up the good work and keep on that upward trajectory. Neil Walker played at 2, recording a good 3-1 against Andrew Potter. Star man Dave Loughlin then produced a strong performance to beat Greame Le Swain 3-0 on the night. Neston win 15-6.
New Brighton v Heswall 57s
It was left to our 57’s to conclude the first half of the season, facing a tricky away game at New Brighton. We took a strong side, that proved to be far too strong for a weakened New Brighton team. Paul Grannon, Ged Clark and Mike Corran all took routine wins to seal the match. Bob Mc then lost a close tie with Adrius Roos, 3-1. Top of the order Tom Clark then clashed styles with the soft-hitting Mark murray. It was Tom’s aggressive game that came out on top with a 3-1 of his own. Heswall 57’s win 18-4.
