Heswall Variety v Neston
Variety took on a strong Neston side, with both teams competing for a podium finish. Captains match up first, with Mark Evans taking on Nick Mason. Mark put in a fantastic performance but couldn’t get match point over the line as Nick took the game 3-2. Dave Breen was up next, facing GLS at 4. A tight game with GLS coming out on top.
Lewis Clarke then took on Justin to keep the tie alive. A great performance again from Lewis winning the game 3-2. Paul Rigby then levelled the match with a good win against Andrew Potter. Back from Injury, Dan Parker the sealed the win, beating Matty Slater 3-1. Variety win 16-10.
Crosby Nicks v Heswall Racketeers
Paul Smith, Chris Sheppard, Matty Smith and Peter Barton all travelled to Crosby and were far too strong for the opposition – each winning 3-0. Mike Beecham then took on Jason Cunningham and was superior, winning 3-1. Great pizzas to follow! Racketeers win 20-1.
Heswall Fury v Crosby Lights
Brian Parker stepped in late on and rolled back the years taking on Phil Ohare at 5. Despite going in to a 2-0 lead, Phil fought back to win 3-2. Lee Bull took on the experienced Chris Lucas at 4, with Chris winning a good game 3-0. Then came the fight back as Mark Jones took on the lively Reece Manion, winning 3-0 and keeping Fury in the tie, including an 18-16 finish! It was a straight-forward romp to the finish line as Neil Walker and Locky won comfortably. Fury win 16-6.
Lymm v Heswall 57s
Chris Moores opened up against Minnie Wood. A close game with Minnie winning 3-1. Great effort! Ben Adams was up next against Roger Longman. Despite falling behind, Ben won the game 3-1. Ged Clark, Bob Mc and Tom Clark all won with ease to give our 57s a good win. 57s 18 – 5 Lymm .
Player of the week goes to Brian Parker. Tremendous effort and great support for a wonderful team all season.
