HRC Ladies Squash Team report 2024
Helo there fellow Heswall members, I just thought I’d start by putting the ladies squash team into place with a bit of context for you.
At the start of this squash league season, we had lost 5 of our 1st team players, who had played in div 1. The previous season in 2023/4, this team came a creditable 3rd in that division. For all sorts of different reasons all five of the 1st team decided they were unable to continue to play team squash in div 1 for our club. This was a real hammer blow, as we could not sustain playing a team in div 1.
In the 2024/5 season we had dusted ourselves down and came roaring back in div 2B to win all but 2 of our matches with 244 points.
During this time Alexandra Hooper at 11 years old came to join the team and helped us win that campaign.
The team went to the div 2 play offs in April, which were held at Barnton squash club to play Bollington, who had won div 2A. Heswall Ladies team put up a very good squash fight, but came 2nd.
Thank you squashettes for still treading the squash boards and continue to consistently turn up, play, win, cook food, and be GR8 team buddies.
