Heswall Racketeers v Capitol
First up was Rob Powley v 21 year old Joseph Harvey. Rob used all his experience against a very promising player to win 3-0. I was up next against Dennis Farrell, who put in a good shift a took a valuable point for his team. Matt Stapledon, Peter Barton and Mike Beecham all had straight forward wins. Heswall Racketeers win 20-1.
New Brighton v Heswall Fury
New Brighton put out a strong side. Lee Bull and Kev Ferguson had all the effort but no points return. Mark Jones and Neil Walker toiled and took good points against Leigh Ward and Mark Maddox. Joy of the night came from Dave Loughlin who beat Ian Thomason 3-2 with a strong performance. New Brighton win, 19-5.
Heswall 57’s v Heswall Variety
Martin Simpson open up the night against Heswall Ladies champ, Lesley Cooley. In a good game, Martin came out on top winning 3-0. John Dunne then took on Variety captain Mark Evans. Lots of thunder, power and effort in a tight match that Mark won 3-0 in consecutive tie breaks. Dave Breen then beat Paul Grannon to seal the win on the night. Ged Clark then battled Lewis Clarke at 2, with Lewis taking the points and the win for Variety. Tom Clark then fought back for our 57’s – winning against the hooded assassin - Paul Rigby , 3-0. Heswall Variety win 17-3.
Player of the week was star man – Dave Loughlin aka Locky.
Double derby day on Tuesday 10th March.
