Heswall 57’s v LCC
Our 57’s hosted LCC with Ben Adams meeting Rob McGregor at 5. Rob ran his way to a 3-0 win. John Dunne then stepped in and took the game to Chris Fairhurst – who produced a good performance winning 3-1. Captains charity bunker – Jason Hopkins then beat our Paul Grannon in straight sets to give the tie to LCC. Bob Mc – fresh in from the Amazon – couldn’t stem the tide against Lee Wallton. Top of the order was super Tom Clark against the ferocious hitting Joe Walton. A great game, with Tom winning all three points. LCC win 18 – 4.
Lymm v Heswall Variety
Our Variety team travelled over to struggling Lymm with a strong team. Martin Simpson tried to make it a home game, before being diverted to the away match! That was, however, his biggest struggle as he romped to a 3-0 win. Mark Evans, Lewis Clarke and Paul Rigby also managed convincing 3-0 wins. Dan Parker then sealed the 20 points with his own 3-1 win over Alex Wigstaff. Harder nights to come. Variety win 20-1.
Crosby Nicks v Heswall Fury
Our Fury team made the journey to Crosby without star player Locky. Steve Patterson was up first, looking to continue his progress and delivered a fantastic 3-2 win over the experienced Mark Murray. Mark Jones then fell on the wrong side of a 3-2 – to drop shot expert Tommy. Ross Frisby kept the tie alive with a fantastic win over Andy Chanter. A real statement win for Ross. Unfortunately, Kevin Ferguson then went down 3 -1 to Matty Fell before Jason Cunningham beat Neil Walker 3-0. Valuable points as Crosby win 18-9.
Heswall Racketeers v Neston
Our Racketeers hosted third placed Neston without our GOAT, Mike Beecham. I was up first against the lively Justin Hussey. Justin won 3-1, ending my 5 game winning streak against our local rivals. Matt Stapledon was up next, looking for revenge against Jack Hussey. Super Stapo delivered a convincing 3-1 win. Peter Barton was down at 3, playing against Neston number 1 , Matt Slater. Peter stretched his own win streak to 11 games, 3-0! Then came our Racketball future star Matty Smith v birthday boy Andy Potts. A tight game that went to the wire with Matty recording a marvellous win for the team. Finally, ball master Andrew Corran took centre stage against the infamous GLS. Andy always looks comfortable and sealed a great win for our Racketeers, 18-7.
Player of the week goes to Ross Frisby!
